United face tough Portuguese opposition tonight as they welcome Benfica to Old Trafford. Sir Alex has told us to expect a “strong team” to appear as we look to secure our qualification from the Champions League group stage. There’s no doubting the importance in the match for United; win and effectively qualify from the group, or lose and pile on the pressure for the remaining matches. As we saw in the reverse fixture, Benfica are a strong and physical side, possessing a lot of threat and pace up front. That game finished 1-1 thanks to a Giggs stunner but to be frank, Benfica could’ve easily had something from the game if it wasn’t for Anders Lindegaard. There’s no doubt that it should be a great matching between the two teams tonight, and we can only hope United relish under the appearance of pressure.
United Starting Line-up: De Gea, Fabio, Jones, Ferdinand, Evra, Valencia, Fletcher, Carrick, Nani, Young, Berbatov Bench: Lindegaard, Smalling, Rafael, Giggs, Park, Hernandez, Gibson
